A few weeks ago, my dogs Kayci and Rex started to come into my room each morning to wake me up. There are two reasons why I think the dogs are doing this.
1. My mom used to come into my room with the dogs in the morning and say "Wake up Evan, doggies! Wake him up!", which excited Kayci into a barking frenzy. (Rex just lets Kayci do the talking, while he stands behind her.)
2. Both of the dogs want food. Even if my mom isn’t there to encourage their behavior (They’ve just recently started to come into my room on their own accord, without being prompted), they will both come in at around 7 a.m., and Kayci will start barking, usually waiting 10 seconds between barks.
I don’t wake up until around 7:15, so you can see why their little rebellions are starting to annoy me. It was cute at first, but I can’t take it any longer! Kayci is a very stubborn dog, and sometimes she doesn’t listen to me, because she has a pack mentality, and I am the lowest on the totem pole since I am the youngest in the family. What can I do to stop these dogs from interrupting my sleep?
What if she continues to bark outside my door?
